June Social Ride

The June Social Ride will be held on Friday, June 28. We will meet at the C&O Canal Parking Lot at the Shepherdstown Bridge at 9:30 am. The route will be C&O Canal Towpath from Shepherdstown to Harper’s Ferry. This will be an “out-and-back” ride entirely on the towpath. The trail is in good condition, packed fine gravel, no hills, almost entirely tree tunnel. Options for lunch would be: walk over the ped bridge to Harper’s Ferry for choice of restaurants or ride over to Shepherdstown on return. If there is interest, we can provide “bring your own sandwich” and transport a small cooler or lunch bag to a picnic/camp site along the trail. Trail is beautiful. Lots of wildlife and wildflowers. Views of the Potomac all the way. You can probably do the trail on road bike unless it’s muddy. Wider profile tires would work too.
